ARK 2 was announced somewhat to everyone's surprise during the Game Awards ceremony, on the night of Thursday 10 to Friday 11 December. Little information was given, except that Vin Diesel evening at the casting and that a series is also planned. However, an article published on the official Xbox site allows us to learn slightly more.
First, the ARK license being linked with Microsoft since its inception, ARK 2 will arrive on consoles exclusively on Xbox Series X/S. The duration of this exclusivity has not yet been announced, but it should be at least a year. In addition, the release window is now known, since we should see it land in 2022. So we still have time to wait.
What's more, the primitive and dangerous world we discovered in the first iteration, with intelligent dinosaurs and fearsome alien fauna, will be well back. One of the characters here, who will also be in the series, is called Santiago and is played by Vin Diesel, who is also the executive producer of the project. The latter seems to be a big fan of the game, with over 1 hours spent in Ark: Survival Evolved.
Unfortunately, no details on gameplay mechanics or any other features have been revealed. That will have to wait a little longer. ARK 2 will arrive in 2022 on PC and Xbox Series X/S. You can (re)watch the announcement trailer below.
