15. The Nioh Collection (PS5)

Best PS5 Games

They might not quite reach the same heights as the Souls games, but the Nioh series' nail-biting samurai combat is worth experiencing. 14. Bugsnax (PS5)

Best PS5 Games

Bugsnax may have won people over with a catchy theme song, but it's so much more than that. It wins you over with its whimsical style and silly concept, but quickly subverts expectations with surprisingly emotional story beats. Your main tasks in the game are to catch the titular creatures and find out what happened to the leader of an expedition on the island. Figuring out how to capture each Bugsnak is fun, and learning about the colorful cast will keep you engaged. It's a unique flavor combo, but it works.

13. Control: Ultimate Edition (PS5)

Best PS5 Games

The control pushed the boundaries of the PS4, delivering intense third-person gameplay – but technically flawed. This trip back to the unorthodox Old House feels much more at home on the PS5, and while there are some weird difficulty spikes, Remedy's unique brand of shooting shines throughout. this captivating outing.

12. WRC 9 (PS5)

Best PS5 Games

The PS5 already has a rock-solid racing sim, and that's WRC 9. This officially licensed rally driver gives the DIRT Rally series a run for its money. With all the real-world routes and vehicles, an in-depth career mode and thrilling driving, any racing fan will be on the edge of their seat. It excels on Sony's new console thanks to excellent DualSense support; you'll feel every bump in the road with haptic feedback, and the triggers wonderfully simulate gas and brake pedals. There are plenty of ways to play, including online championships, so this should keep petrol heads running until Gran Turismo 7 crosses the line.

11. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (PS5)

Best PS5 Games

The single-player campaign is the reason to buy Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Filled with top-secret espionage and spy-like action, Treyarch has curated a fantastic solitary outing that introduces side missions and optional quests to the series' traditional linear levels. Zombies is an obvious mainstay filled with secrets and the kind of depth you'd expect from any full-priced release, so much so that the multiplayer feels a bit too bare bones this time around. It's basic Call of Duty multiplayer in just about every way. Fixable, but not exactly exciting.

10. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time (PS5)

Best PS5 Games

Crash Bandicoot is one of PlayStation's most iconic platforming heroes, and now that it's doubled down on PS5, there's no excuse to skip It's About Time. This sequel stays true to the series' origins, but it's packed with new ideas and jaw-dropping defining moments. Running at an impeccable 60 frames per second in sparkling 4K resolution, this version looks its best on Sony's next-gen console.

9. The Pathless (PS5)

Best PS5 Games

The Pathless lives up to its name with a gorgeous open world to explore, but it's how you move around that sets this adventure apart. While playing as an archer, firing arrows at targets scattered across the map grants you a speed boost, allowing you to traverse natural environments and mysterious ruins with incredible flow. This journey leads you to discover the secrets of a corrupted world, and you will solve puzzles and face fearsome creatures in your quest to cleanse the land. A beautiful game in many ways, it's quietly one of the PS5's best.

8. Sackboy: A Big Adventure (PS5)

Best PS5 Games

LittleBigPlanet's knitted hero has been on the sidelines for far too long, but Sackboy: A Big Adventure is bringing the whimsical warrior back into the limelight with pizzazz. This co-op platformer may shed the Play, Create, Share backbone that defined previous outings, but with a stunning presentation and tight level design, it makes the underutilized character relevant once again.

7. Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS5)

Best PS5 Games

Yakuza: Like a Dragon hardly feels next-gen as it's very much rooted in Ryu ga Gotoku Studio's dated engine and game design principles, but it's packed with personality and is one of the most varied releases in this genre. listing. At its core, it's a traditional role-playing game built around an engaging and relatable core cast of characters, but it's so much more: this small, yet densely populated open world is home to go-karts , a complete business management mini-game and a wackier side. -quests that you can shake with the massage wand. It's one of the most unique and time-consuming titles on PS5.

6. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (PS5)

Best PS5 Games

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales builds on Insomniac Games' remarkably established superhero world and features a thoroughly enjoyable origin story for Peter Park's accomplice. For more information, read our Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales PS5 Review.

5. Assassin's Creed Valhalla (PS5)

Best PS5 Games

The PS5 version of Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a fantastic Viking saga. Running at a silky smooth 60 frames per second in its performance mode, it's an often stunning recreation of 9th century England. In many ways, Valhalla is a refinement of the formula offered by Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey. A much greater focus on main story missions is a huge step in the right direction, while the open world itself feels much more handcrafted. It's a little rough around the edges, but Eivor's epic story is a game we'll probably still play well in the future.

4. Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition (PS5)

3. Hitman 3 (PS5)

Best PS5 Games

The culmination of a generation of effort from highly talented Danish developer IO Interactive, Hitman 3 isn't just a sensational stealth game on its own – but it also compiles all of the locations from the World of Assassin trilogy, bringing them together under one same roof almost unlimited espionage. The series combines large, finely crafted sandbox stages with clockwork gameplay, which is open to manipulation in any way that suits you.
