How to have a house in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and enlarge it?
Upon arriving on the island, Tom Nook informs you that he has taken care of everything, and that you will start by set up your tent ! So you won't start the game with a house, just a tent that can be upgraded later. To improve it and have your first house, it's very simple! You must pay off your first loan from Tom Nook. This loan is used to reimburse the costs of plane tickets, taxes etc... and it amounts to 5 000 Miles Nook !
Once you pay it back, go talk to Tom Nook in the Residents office. He will then talk to you about the construction of your house, but as you can imagine, it has a cost! This second loan will this time be in Bells, the in-game currency, and it will amount to 98 Bells. It may seem excessive, but the loan pays off pretty quickly if you get Bells easily!
Thereafter, you can keep expanding your home every time you finish repaying a loan, as in the previous opus!
