Some will be crossed by a river, and no bridge will allow you to cross it. However, you will be able to make a pole and use it to get to the other side! We explain how to do it.

How to have a pole to cross the river in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
Until you can build bridges, you will need to cross the river with a pole ! This will allow you to access parts of the island inaccessible on foot, and therefore to have access to more resources and materials!
This pole is thanks to Thibou you can get it! Once the curator of the Museum has settled in your city, you can talk to him about the construction of the Museum. He will then ask you for donations of fossils, fish and insects, and to help you, he will provide you with two DIY plans : the shot of a shovel, and the shot of a pole !

Once the map is in your pocket, select it to learn it. You can then go to the crafting workbench to make the pole, and finally be able to use it! To use it, face the river, and press the A button. You will then be transported to the other side of the shore!
