The sequel to Fallen Order scheduled for 2022?As we know, the commercial success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order motivated EA to look again at single-player Star Wars games. Moreover, Kotaku had said a few weeks ago that a sequel was indeed planned, while Respawn itself, in charge of the development of the title, was recruiting for a hypothetical sequel at the end of 2019. In this at the end of April 2020, new rumors are emerging, indicating that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 (if that is its name), would be released in 2022.
It is Bespin Bulletin, a leaker who has already proven himself, who announces this on his Instagram account, explaining that the opus is scheduled by EA to be released during the year 2022. What is more, it would not be of the game alone Star Wars to see the light of day in the coming years, since a "flight simulator", the famous Project Maverick which had leaked at the beginning of March, would be scheduled for 2021. Unfortunately, EA does not plan to launch Battlefront 3 before the release of these two titles.
Star Wars: Battlefront 3 might not arrive until 2024Indeed, in the continuity of its message, Bespin Bulletin explains that the DICE teams are currently focused on the development of the next Battlefield, which will arrive during the year 2021. As a result, the development of Battlefront 3 wouldn't start until late 2021, at the earliest, which could lead to a distant release. He also clarifies that at this time, EA has "no plans" for Star Wars: Battlefront 3, although that may change in the coming months. As a reminder, the contract established between EA and Lucasfilm allowing exclusive development of Star Wars games comes to an end in 2023, but could be extended.
As always, we advise you to take this information, however plausible it may be, with a grain of salt, since it does not come from any member of the studios mentioned above.
