Grounded's first early access update added a fearsome crow to the courtyard. This massive beast flies around the area, dropping feathers that players can pick up to take back to their base. Another, smaller creature that has also been released alongside the crow is a water flea. You can find them in the southern part of the map, next to the birdbath.
Most of the time, water fleas float underwater. You will rarely see them flying, gliding over the surface of the water. You can kill them, but since they usually stay in the middle of the flooded area, it's best to take them out with a bow and arrow, hitting them from afar. You can also hit them while they are flying underwater.
After shooting them down, take your arrows and collect the meat they drop. Unfortunately, the meat does nothing, but it satisfies your hunger. When you inspect meat in your inventory, they have a recipe associated with them. You can't scan it as a field station to find out.
