When is The Binding of Isaac: Repentance expansion release date?

Expansion? But Edmund said Rebirth, Afterbirth, and Afterbirth+ would all be the last! Well, he has us again. Not only is there another new expansion for the roguelike, but the developer says it's big enough to be considered a sequel. The Binding of Isaac: Repentance now has a coming soon page on Steam and can be immediately wishlisted. What is called a final, final, final mega expansion is currently over 90% complete. The release date for the expansion on Steam is set for December 31, 2020.

Repentance is called “the DLC sequel you've always dreamed of” by Edmund himself. No details were given on exactly what is included in this expansion, but based on previous experience, we might be able to figure it out. Here's a wishlist that's probably exactly what's included.

    • New articles
    • New playable characters
    • New enemies
    • New bosses
    • New dungeon layouts
    • new story
    • New SYNERGIES

The Binding of Isaac may have felt a little threatened by the recent releases of other phenomenal BPM roguelikes: Bullets Per Minute and Hades. They were both clearly influenced by the massively successful cult classic. Although the roguelike formula has been around for a while, none have perfected the progression, reward system, and replayability like The Binding of Isaac. We can expect a lot more of the same gory, gory, and disgusting greatness we've come to know and love when the Repentance DLC hits Steam later this year. The full update and more details are included in this Steam post from Edmund himself.
