Mario Golf: Super Rush was released on June 25, 2021, and with it came both classic and new game modes. Many players are unfamiliar with some of these game modes, so below we have provided a basic description of all the game modes available in the latest installment of the Mario Golf franchise.
standard golf
In this game mode, players can play a standard round of golf. This means it follows the basic rules of golf in that the player with the lowest score at the end of the game wins! As in most standard golf games, there will be obstacles or weather conditions that will make each course more difficult.
- Players: up to four.
- Multiplayer: online and local.
- Courses: Your choice of six unlockable courses.
- Holes: Your choice of 3, 6, 9 or 18 holes.
- Play: take turns or have everyone play at the same time. Win by having the lowest score at the end of the course.
speed golf
In this game mode, players compete to sink their ball as quickly as possible at each hole. This is a quick play mode that allows all players to play together and gives them the ability to interrupt other players with special abilities and shots.
- Players: up to four.
- Multiplayer: online and local.
- Courses: Your choice of six unlockable courses.
- Holes: Your choice of 3, 6, 9 or 18 holes.
- Play: Everyone plays at the same time.

Solo challenge
This game mode works as the primary method of training and improving your skills in the game. Players can use it to test new techniques, experiment with each level, or try to break new records!
- Players: One player.
- Multiplayer: none.
- Courses: Your choice of six unlockable courses.
- Holes: 18 holes for each course.
- Play: Beat your best score in Score Attack, or beat your best time in Time Attack.
fighting golf
In this game mode, players compete in a battle for all with new obstacles, a new type of competition and different styles of play. Each hole on the course starts open and closes when a player sinks a ball. The only way to win is to sink three balls before the other players!
- Players: up to four.
- Multiplayer: local and online.
- Course: A predefined course.
- Holes: 9 holes for each part.
- Play: All players play at the same time.
Golf adventure
In this game mode, players create their own Mii character to join a country golf club and raise their rank from rookie player to pro. This mode is like an RPG but for golf!
- Players: Single player – your chosen Mii character or one you create from scratch.
- Multiplayer: none.
- Courses: Play through pre-selected courses and levels.
- Holes: Play through pre-selected courses and levels.
- Play: Fight bosses, earn XP by training and winning matches, and level up to improve your ranking.
