What is a standard race in Mario Kart Tour?

If you're really only playing the single-player content in Mario Kart Tour, you might get a little confused by one of the challenges. You will need to slide a distance of 1500 or more in a standard race.

A standard race is a type of multiplayer race that you can participate in. Click on the multiplayer button at the bottom left of the screen, then click on the standard race. The game will search for opponents in your area, you have to choose your driver, your kart and your glider. After that you will be loaded into a random level. You'll just have to keep playing races until you get one with decent jumps that you can slide over.

Standard Races differ from Gold Races in two ways. The standard race has two sets of rules that can change, while the gold races have four sets of rules that change daily.

Courses standard:

  • 100cc with default item slots
  • 100cc with two item slots

Grades from E to A are possible, depending on performance.

Courses d'or:

  • 150cc with default item slots
  • 150cc with two item slots
  • 200cc with default item slots
  • 200cc with an item slot

Ratings from E to S are possible, depending on performance.

Gold races can only be joined by Gold Pass subscribers, while standard races are open to everyone. Both types of races have seven players, and the game will try to connect you with nearby people.
