The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 has been one of the most anticipated titles in gaming since it was first revealed at E3 2019. We expect the title to release in Holiday 2021, but this is just hearsay. Nintendo has stated that they will appear for the all-virtual E3 2021 event, which kicks off June 12-15, so hopefully more information will be revealed.
According to Samus Hunter, a Nintendo Insider Leaker, they claim that Nintendo will focus entirely on three aspects, two tournaments of Splatoon 3 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and the 35th anniversary of Zelda. They also mentioned that Nintendo would announce its intentions at E3 very soon.
Not much footage of this new Zelda title has been shown outside of the initial trailer. We know the game is still in development, from what Eiji Aonuma said during the Nintendo Direct presentation in February 2021.
I'm sure many of you saw me and thought that there might be some news about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game sequel. Unfortunately, we have nothing to share at this time. We apologize.
Development is going well and we should be able to bring you some new information this year. For now, we will have to ask you to wait a little longer.

Well-known senior analyst Daniel Ahmad tweeted a list of titles coming to the Switch over the next few years on May 6, and he noted that Breath of the Wild 2 still doesn't have a release date, but stating that is not the case. t news. It's still tagged under TBA (TBA), even Pokémon Legends: Arceus having at least a 2022 date.
The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3 are still undated.

With rumors that a Nintendo Switch Pro is in the works, it makes sense that Nintendo would potentially hold off the release of BoTW2 to coincide with the release of a new and improved Switch. This, of course, would dramatically increase sales; since BoTW's performance was stable, it was not consistent. But much like the release date of Breath of the Wild 2, the existence of the Switch Pro is unknown.
