Crash Bandicoot 4 on Nintendo Switch could be in the works

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is heading to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on October 2. But the game's official site suggests that Crash Bandicoot 4 could be coming to Nintendo Switch at some point.

Twitter user SunwerPrower found the information in the site's code for preorders. In addition to the expected options for the platforms already announced, there is also a code for pre-ordering Crash Bandicoot 4 on Nintendo Switch.

Inside the Crash Bandicoot 4 page, there is a small remnant of the Switch. More specifically, it contains a script that includes the "Nintendo Switch" element. This component is what feeds the platform options menu. You can check it yourself. pic.twitter.com/oTMtBno1ZV

A Switch version wouldn't be so surprising. Activision and Toys 4 Bob first released the Crash N.Sane Trilogy and Spyro Reignited Trilogy on all platforms except Switch, then ported them, following a much-needed update for Spyro in particular.

In fact, it would be much more surprising if Crash Bandicoot 4 didn't end up on the Switch. It's billed as a direct continuation of the original Crash Bandicoot Trilogy already on the Switch after all, taking the style, design, and characters in a new direction while maintaining the same classic gameplay underpinnings.

But of course, this is all unconfirmed until Activision confirms it. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Crash Bandicoot 4 news as it rolls out.
