PES 2022 launches beta on consoles

After a 2021 episode where new features were meager, since Konami had chosen to offer an update rather than a new game, we should benefit from real improvements with this new opus. While we'll have to wait to find out what the developers' plans are and get a glimpse of it all, a first test phase may give us some clues.

Indeed, whether on the Microsoft Store or on the PlayStation Store, it is now possible to download “ New Football Game Online Performance Test ". Although the name is not eFootball PES 2022, there is no doubt that it is PES 2022, since the site address contains "pes" (https://www.konami.com/wepes/obt/en/ps5/).

The purpose of this beta is mainly to evaluate online matchmaking and server connection, since gameplay, graphics and other points are "under development and will be improved before the official launch". Obviously, the content (team, workforce) will be limited.

Regarding the rest of the information to know, note that it is not mandatory to be a subscriber to Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus to take advantage of this beta, and that the cross-gen functionality, allowing Xbox One and Series players and PS4/PS5 to play each other is enabled. However, cross-play does not seem to be part of it.

If you want to test PES 2022 beta, go to the Microsoft Store or PlayStation Store and search for “New Football Game Online Performance Test” (also found by typing "PES 2022"). You have until July 8 to participate. The developers are already giving us an appointment on July 27 for an announcement about the game.
