Public chat Clash Royale, "Towards the legend" is a series of guides presenting you with a list of decks in order to go up in Legendary Arena by using if possible a card as a pillar. For the lists presented to you, in addition to our feelings, we use StatsRoyale, the base of high-level players as well as specialized sites like Clash Royale Arena. As the game tends to evolve, these guides will be updated regularly. Here, we are going to base ourselves on a map that is available from the start of the game, but usable everywhere: the Giant. As a complement, we invite you to consult our other guides, in order to help you progress.

May 2 update : Added Giant Deck Three Musketeers Bait (0 legendary).

Summary
Arena 1 to 3 Arena 4 Arena 5 to 6 Arena 7 Arena 8 to 12

What decks with the Giant entail

Our big man is not here to do immense damage, even if he is able to do his share of the work. the Giant is a tank, a sponge if we use other terms. These are not decks that will necessarily be heavy, but our pillar will impose a fairly similar style of play: exploiting his life to allow other units, or even spells, to express themselves. For example, if you can acquire the Graveyard, the latter will be particularly effective in this situation.

Arena 1 to 3

Composition of the deck

Giant

Witch

Musketeer

Knight

Goblins

Spear Goblins

arrows

Fireball

Average cost : 3,5

Difficulty : Easy/Medium

Logically, you can replace the Witch by the epic map that you are going to have, which are the Prince or Baby dragon. Indeed, in any case, your air and ground defense will be sufficient. The principle is simple: you have the Giant at your level King's Tower, giving you time to power it up, making your push harder to counter. In ground defense, the Knight is a card that will render you great services, such as the Musketeer for the air.

Another reason why we chose this deck is that most cards can be used in a multitude of decks, even in Legendary Arena. As a result, you will be able to improve the level of cards that will be useful to you at any time, a particularly profitable solution.

Arena 4

Composition of the deck

Giant

Witch

Musketeer

Knight

Gargoyles

tomb stone

arrows

Fireball

Average cost : 3,8

Difficulty : Medium

Here, we opt for a slightly more defensive selection, with the addition of two cards that are also used frequently at high level: Gargoyles and tomb stone. Indeed, you will encounter three new cards that are very well known, even at the top: the Lava Hound  PEKKA and Pig Rider.

It is necessary to have, de facto, cards which will allow an increased defense, both on the ground and in the air, hence the choice of Gargoyles and tomb stone. For the first, it allows a better aerial response, especially if the opponent plays the Ball in addition. For the second, it slows them down (especially the second), which turns out to be very useful. Therefore, you will have to be less aggressive in your way of playing and orient yourself on the counter.

Arena 5 and 6

Without Legendary

Composition of the deck

Giant

Ball

Musketeer

Knight

Gargoyles

tomb stone

Electrocution / Zap

Fireball

Average cost : 3,6

Difficulty : Medium

A mandatory change to make is to add the Zap, because it is a card that will become essential, so you might as well look into it now. Moreover, since thearmy of skeletons will always be present, this guarantees you an advantage to the quick elixir. It will also be very useful against the Hell Tower.

Since we have this map, we can also use the Ball with more confidence, which is a good opportunity to use it and increase it since the Witch is very rare in the high-level meta. Moreover, the Giant Balloon Combo is powerful. Again few changes here, to focus on cards you will use later. If you don't have it, keep the latter, it will do.

With the cemetery

Composition of the deck

Giant

Graveyard

Baby dragon

Knight

Gargoyles

tomb stone

Electrocution / Zap

Poison

Average cost : 3,6

Difficulty : Medium

Here, we adopt a more defensive deck but which has a devastating combo in counter-attack although particularly expensive: Graveyard et Poison. For this, if we cannot use the Giant, which will be more comfortable in times of double elixir. the Baby dragon is preferred to Musketeer, because its life points will allow the Graveyard to increase its potential.

Arena 7

For the last two decks, it is possible to go into the legendary arena with them, knowing that one of them has no legendaries.

Sans Legendary (Balloon)

Composition of the deck

Giant

Ball

Musketeer

Mini PEKKA

mega gargoyle

Goblins

Electrocution / Zap

Fireball

Average cost : 3,6

Difficulty : Medium

This arena will see the arrival of two nightmares in the ladder: Elite Barbarians and royal giant. When, in addition, we have a resurgence of tanks, like the Golem, the choice of Mini PEKKA imposes itself. Especially since it forms an interesting pair with tanks, including the Giant.

Here the mega gargoyle is also essential, because it offers more solidity than the Gargoyles and it is interesting to level it up. Finally, the choice of Goblins is there to lighten the deck, but if you want you can keep the tomb stone. We also keep the Ball, which can be an effective distraction and is still a difficult combo to defend against.

Legendary Sans (Double Prince)

Composition of the deck

Giant

Prince

dark prince

mega gargoyle

Gargoyles

arrows

Fireball

elixir extractor

Average cost : 4,1

Difficulty : Medium/Hard

Even if the cost is high, it is a relatively aggressive deck with a defense which is not optimal, but which compensates by a strong offensive potential. With this one, it's not uncommon to land attacks from both sides, which can become difficult to stop. Here, its author preferred to use the arrows, since the dark prince does ground damage in a radius. the Giant + mega gargoyle and Prince + Dark Prince are combos to exploit. Don't neglect theExtractor, which is there to speed up the pace and sometimes attract spells.

Double Prince with the Electro-wizard and the Miner

Composition of the deck

Giant

Prince

dark prince

mega gargoyle

Electro-wizard

Minor

Electrocution / Zap

Poison

Average cost : 3,8

Difficulty : Medium

Played by South Korean TNT, this deck works very well in the ladder, allowing its creator to monopolize the world top. He has an excellent general defense and you benefit from good pushes, supported by the Giant and two princes. Here the Minor is primarily there for defence, whether as a last resort or to counter a elixir extractor. If you don't have theElectro-wizard Musketeer can replace it. To better understand and play this deck, you can watch the video below:

With the cemetery

Composition of the deck

Giant

Graveyard

Baby dragon

Knight

mega gargoyle

tomb stone

Electrocution / Zap

Poison

Average cost : 3,6

Difficulty : Medium

Only one change with the adoption of the mega gargoyle, instead of Gargoyles, to gain in life points and optimization of the Graveyard. This deck can work in the following arenas.

Back to summary

Arena 8 to 12

Usually that's where the serious stuff starts, but you'll also get the vast majority of the cards you need. It may have some variations, but you can go up to the legendary arena with a deck available from arena 8, see before. Here are five decks available (in addition to the previous one), with or without legendaries.

Arena 8

Without Legendary (Prince and Poison) or with Inferno Dragon

Composition of the deck

Giant

Prince

Musketeer

mega gargoyle

ice spirit

guards

Electrocution / Zap

Poison

Average cost : 3,4

Difficulty : Medium/Hard

The Guards are important in this deck. Can withstand The log, they are also a good weapon against Hell Tower and  hell dragon. Moreover, if you have the latter, replace the Musketeer, giving you a more effective weapon against tanks. L'ice spirit, having a freeze and therefore an immobilization, can force a change of target, which is also a good thing. We recommend that you read this video to better understand how to play this type of deck.

With Miner and La B没che

Composition of the deck

Giant

Minor

Musketeer

Gargoyles

horde of gargoyles

Goblins

The log

Fireball

Average cost : 3,5

Difficulty : Medium/Hard

Even if it can be played from arena 6, it is a deck whose gameplay has proven itself at high levels. It should also be added that the possible replacements can go up to arena 9 (from Goblins au Gang de gobelins). If you do not have The log, Zap will make the adversary, knowing that it can even become an alternative.

Here, the deck has two distinct threats: the Giant and Minor. While one will use the latter more aggressively, the other will be more useful on the counterattack. The horde of gargoyles will be very useful in defense, against tanks and can punish in attack, in case your opponent does not manage his spells well. Even if there are no buildings and he is not the easiest to play, his solidity both defensively and offensively make him a quality choice.

With Zappy and the Night Witch

Composition of the deck

Giant

Zappy

mega gargoyle

witch of the night

ice spirit

Electrocution / Zap

Fireball

elixir extractor

Average cost : 3,9

Difficulty : Medium

Available from arena 8, it is a heavy deck but enjoying great efficiency, especially if the Extractors are working well. Here, the Giant is important to protect Zappy, which will be able to wreak havoc. The guide for this deck is available on our site.

Arena 9

Giant Deck Three Musketeers Bait (0 legendary) (copy deck here)

Composition of the deck

Giant

three musketeers

battle ram

Gang de gobelins

Bats

horde of gargoyles

Electrocution / Zap

elixir extractor

Average cost : 4,5

Difficulty : Medium/Hard

It is a deck that is of a very high cost, as we can read. However, having the Giant in a type deck three musketeers is a very good thing, since your other units can lean on him and potentially do some serious damage. The other advantage you have over your opponent is that he will have to be very careful about how he uses his spells (hence the term Bait).

Although you may struggle more against decks that have three spells (which is rare) and/or arrows (especially if you use the Horde too fast), your opponent will in most cases find himself facing troops he may have trouble getting rid of or either a Extractor that he may be forced to leave, which can prove fatal when you have an excellent strong strike.

Even if you only play one spell, which is the norm in a deck three musketeers, you have enough to do brilliantly, do pushes on both sides and the "three crowns" quite often. Also, the fact that the deck has no epic or legendary cards makes it ladder efficient, since you can level up cards more easily.

Loupanji Anti Royal Ghost Deck, with the Electro Wizard

Composition of the deck

Giant

Ball

mega gargoyle

Hunter

Electro-wizard

Electrocution / Zap

Poison

tomb stone

Average cost : 3,8

Difficulty : Medium

What we can see at the start is a variation of the deck Giant Balloon, which is a great classic, but with additions that make it strong in this meta, like the Hunter, Poison and Tomb stone. In any case, if the opposite player plays the or a heavy card, you should sanction it with a combo Giant/Hunter et Ball that hurts.

However, how this deck is a counter to the Royal Ghost ? One of the most important things to note is the tomb stone. The fact that she can regularly create Skeletons will force him to discover himself, slow him down and help your other troops to defend, especially the mega gargoyle. The Hunter is also useful, especially if he can shoot first. When you combine it all with the Giant and Ball, you have a very solid deck, which can strongly punish and which counters the card of the moment well.

For more information on this deck and how to play it, we advise you to watch this video of GodSaveTheFishWhere Loupanji play the deck in question.

Arena 11

Loupanji Magic Archer Giant Deck, with the Royal Ghost and the Prince. (copy deck here)

Composition of the deck

Giant

magic archer

royal ghost

mega gargoyle

Prince

ice spirit

Electrocution / Zap

Poison

Average cost : 3,4

Difficulty : Medium/Hard

This is a deck that appears in the "pro challenge" and is a more aggressive variation of the one with the Musketeer and guards. L'Amagic search offers a more interesting defensive option than our first, thanks to its huge range. Also, if he shoots well in front of an enemy Tower, he can hit it, which can help you win. On the contrary, the royal ghost offers a more offensive solution than the guards, which may or may not use the Giant.
